Quick fix for SSL problems with apache in virtualmin

Virtualmin is a great hosting panel, but it has its bugs and glitches. In this time, Let’s Encrypt certificates was generated correctly, but apache wasnt using the new valid certificate, causing security alerts on browser. All I had to do was:

  • Go to /etc/httpd/conf.d/ssl.conf
  • Change the path of the default certificate to the one that you generated from Let’s Encrypt tool in Virtualmin
  • Be happy again

As I am hosting only one domain for now, I have not tested how other virtual servers on the same machine will react to the default certificate. Please test and report back if it works or if you find another solution.
